Virginia is a state located in the South Atlantic area of the United States. Virginia was one of the Original 13 Colonies, and later became a state in 1788. Virginia is nicknamed “Old Dominion,” and is also called the “Mother of Presidents,” because of the 8 U.S. presidents that were born there. The Virginia General Assembly is one of the oldest legislative branches in the Americas. Virginia is home to the Central Intelligence Agency. Virginia Commonwealth University

Virginia Commonwealth University is a public research university in Richmond, Virginia. The university has two main campuses within Richmond: the main campus called the Monroe Park campus, and the Medical Center campus. The VCU Medical Center is the region’s sole level 1 Trauma Center, and has specialists in almost every type of medicine. VCU as a whole enrolls approximately 31,000 students each year. VCU is one of the best public research universities in the nation. Its Nurse Anesthesia program, and the fine arts Sculpture program were recently ranked among the best in the county.  Many other programs placed high on national rankings, including VCU’s Education programs. University of Virginia

The University of Virginia is a public research university in Charlottesville, Virginia. The university was founded in 1819 by Thomas Jefferson, since then it has evolved into an outstanding university that gives equal opportunity to all students who demonstrate great potential. U of V has consistently ranked as the 2nd best public university anywhere in the United States. George Mason University

George Mason University is a public university located in Fairfax, Virginia. The school also has outreach campuses in Virginia’s cities of Arlington, Manassas, and Sterling. The university was founded as a small college in 1957. Often just called “Mason,” the university is an affordable choice for students looking for an engaging campus and high academic standards. Liberty University

Liberty University is a private Christian university located in Lynchburg, Virginia. Liberty was founded in 1971, and sits on an extensive 6,000+ acre campus. The school offers more than 200 academic programs, and one of the largest distance-learning program from any religious university in the nation. Students attending classes on campus number about 12,000, but students learning via online classes  at Liberty equal approximately 70,000.
