Colorado is a beautiful state with a breathtaking natural landscape. The words in the song, ‘America is Beautiful,’ were inspired by the beautiful purple peaks in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. The state with the, “Purple mountains, majesty,” is also home to many wonderful colleges and universities.

University of Colorado Denver

The University of Colorado at Denver is one of three schools in the University of Colorado system, with the other schools located in Boulder and Colorado Springs. This school has over 115 programs and a medical school. The Denver campus is located downtown and the Anschutz Medical Center campus is located in Aurora, Colorado. University of Colorado Boulder

University of Colorado at Boulder, commonly known as UC-Boulder, is the flagship university in Colorado. CU-Boulder began in 1877 and has a strong academic presence as the only member of the Association of American Universities (AAU) in the Rocky Mountain Region. You can enjoy Ralphie, the country’s only live mascot, a real buffalo, if you attend this school. University of Colorado – Colorado Springs

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs is one of the fastest-growing colleges in the United States. They have the ability to boast that they graduated 20 Olympic athletes. CU Colorado Springs is a choice of Olympians after they spend years training for the Olympic Games in Colorado Springs. This school is one of the U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges, and has top-ranking nursing and engineering programs. Colorado State University

Colorado State University is located in the beautiful northern part of Colorado, in Fort Collins. Almost 30 percent of Colorado’s STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) students choose this school. This college is also known for their veterinary medicine, occupational therapy, journalism, construction management and agriculture programs. CSU has a unique campus layout, with over 5,000 acres devoted to the campus, broken up between an agricultural campus, a foothills campus, a mountain campus and their main campus. United States Air Force Academy Colorado Springs

Graduates of the United States Air Force Academy, located in Colorado Springs, can count on earning a Bachelor of Science degree and a career in the Air Force. Competitive admissions set these graduates apart from their counterparts in the Armed Forces. This is a very prestigious school and graduates become officers upon completion of their program. University of Denver

The University of Denver or DU is the state’s first private university, founded in 1864. They had to actually close their doors for a few years after the instability of the Colorado Gold Rush, but reopened and graduated their first student in 1884. Many notable alumni came through the University of Denver, some of the most recognizable being Condoleezza Rice, the former Secretary of State under George W. Bush, and Peter Coors, Chairman of Molson Coors Brewing Co. They are ranked as one of the nation’s top 100 universities, and their business school, the Daniels College of Business, ranks in the top 25 percent for both full and part-time MBA and business programs. Colorado Christian University

Colorado Christian University is a small Christian college in the Rocky Mountains. The campus is located in Lakewood, Colorado, just minutes from downtown Denver. This small school has just over 4,000 students and it offers associate’s through master’s degrees, along with certificate and licensing programs. They have all of the general degree programs along with some with a Christian emphasis such as Young Life Leadership, Youth Leadership and Wilderness Leadership.
