Tennessee

Tennessee is a state in the southeastern United States. Tennessee became a state in 1796. It is thought that Tennessee’s name comes from a Native American village called “Tanasi.” Today Tennessee is nicknamed the “Volunteer State.” Tennessee has long been the heart of the country music industry. Historically, Tennessee is important to music as a whole, since rock and roll took shape there. Many famous musicians, like Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley, got their start in this state. University of Tennessee

The University of Tennessee is a public land-grant university on 560 acres in Knoxville, Tennessee. The University of Tennessee at Knoxville is the flagship university for the University of Tennessee public university system. UTK, as it is referred to, was founded in 1794 and today enrolls about 28,000 student served by 10,000+ faculty and staff members. It has been ranked in the top 50 public research universities in the nation. University of Memphis

The University of Memphis is a public research university in Memphis, Tennessee. The U of M was founded in 1912 as a small college. Today, its main campus and seven outreach campuses span a total of 1,607 acres with 237 buildings. 22,000 students enroll in classes at the U of M and they are taught by nearly 1,000 full-time faculty. The university offers 17 distinct bachelor’s degrees in 250 different fields of study. Graduate students can select the degree that is right for them out of 55 majors in Master’s degrees, and 23 doctoral specializations. The university also offers a special degree in education and a law degree. Don’t worry about funding your education at U of M. Middle Tennessee State University

Middle Tennessee State University is a public university located in Mursfreeboro, Tennessee. MTSU was founded in 1911 as a teacher-training Normal School, and today has grown into one of the largest universities in the state. More than 26,000 students study at MTSU on a 500-acre main campus. The diverse students at this school are taught by about 900 distinguished faculty. MTSU was the first public university in the state to have an Honors Program, and it remains committed to academic success. Vanderbilt University

Vanderbilt University is a private research university located on 330 acres in Nashville, Tennessee. It was founded in 1873 and enrolls about 12,000 graduate and undergraduate students each year. Faculty at Vanderbilt include several Nobel Laureates and the school ranks as one of the best in the state. Many of Vanderbilt’s graduate and undergraduate programs, including its Master’s of Business program, have been called among the greatest in the United States.
